THE MARY DOLLY FOUNDATION WANTS TO PARTNER YOUR SCHOOL ( OR GROUP)

Under the Children Act 2004 every agency has a duty to cooperate to promote every child/young person they work with achieving the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes which the Act describes as the legal definition of wellbeing for children and young people.
There is strong indication that future OFSTED inspections will be heavily concerned with the provision for wellbeing for children and young people.

However it is generally recognised that some of the adverse factors contributing to current situation are:

  • Lack of cohesive support for effective family function
  • Economic and social exclusion
  • Insufficient recognition of the need to develop emotional intelligence
  • Inadequate professional help for those at risk of sexual-exploitation
  • Insufficient opportunity to resolve emotional damage as a result of domestic violence and/or sexual abuse
  • Insufficient help to resolve subsequent mental health issues brought about by the above

The areas of strongest need have been identified as:

  • Dealing with family de-stabilisation
  • Drug and alcohol addiction and recovery
  • Resolving abusive behaviour
  • Bereavement
  • Ethnic or cultural displacement
  • Economic deprivation

The Foundation works in partnership with education and health suppliers and charities to promote and provide opportunities for real change for parents and families with additional needs and to alleviate the effects of emotional distress and mental strain. We are skilled at providing therapeutic interventions via one to one or group work focusing on:

For Organisations:

We offer full project research and development providing a full service of needs assessment and project design and implementation which can be individually tailored to meet the needs of local communities or pockets of individual, family or community distress or disturbance whilst at the same time providing a borough wide service that is flexible and sustainable.

We will provide consultations for each of the areas, locations or centres that are able to access the services in order to ascertain the most appropriate programme for the situation they may currently wish to support or resolve within the budget that they have available. We would then draft an action plan to take that service forward which would involve us collaborating with the service purchasers, the centre/ school accessing the service, the service users (therapeutic clients) and any other agency involved. The action plan would naturally include milestones and we would monitor progress, identify blocks to achieving desired outcomes, liaise with all those involved and produce monitoring reports which would include recommendations for any development of the service.
